A social site for poets in Sydney.
Hi everyone,
I'm popping my blogging cherry on this site, so I do hope i'm doing what i'm supposed to do!
I've been reading lots of Mark Tredinnick, so i'd have to say that he probably influenced this little poem. The cat crawled onto my lap when i woke up on Sunday morning and this is what i wrote in about 10 minutes. I've since gone back to change it, and can't see that it needs to be changed. However, if anyone out there has different ideas, i'd be very…

Met a young man, still a boy you could say
who claimed to own a life that was in disarray
Born out of wealth, with a privileged upbringing
he…

requires for the one with few tools
to be incredibly swift
and deft;
and static tears
in howling storms
for all the sparrows that have died.

There was a face
visible in the landscape painting
that meant really
it's-all-weird
Which is Ancient Greek translated into Modern English for
"everything is beautiful in its own way"
your frowning sounding board face
the face that left an imprint on the mirror
in torrid delight kissing the Cheshire Cat
the face of Orpheus bent
after many attempts of the brick walls
"between 9am-5pm No Understanding"…

in the night a monster a man
spiked with metal rods
walking trancing his way
across the coals
that monstrous heat
but pain deterred where the sacred
and the jostling crowds meet
the whole world begins to rock
like a school of fish everyone
moves at the same strange pace
our faces scorched by heat
eyes ablaze in wonder at this feat
that should bring tormented…

See that leaf falling from the tree,
to the motions of the wind, falling so free.
Like the spirit of a happy soul you can see the colors change,
it really is something strange.
See how it falls so slowly, so calm, so pure,
heartbeat raising wanting more and…

A golden spa, an entourage
Capture me amongst a haze
Thirsting lips take soothing sips
Familiar warmths become ablaze
Sparkle shimmer lustful liquor
Sway me fabricated free
Finding flow until you fade
Consuming you, comsuming me.

THAT'S NO MOON
Star Wars fans amongst you will recall the moment in Star Wars Episode IV when Luke, Han and Obi-Wan realise they're approaching the Death Star.
Luke: He's headed for that small moon.Continue
Ben: That's no moon. It's a space station.
Han: It's too big to be a space station.
Luke: I have a very bad…

Ayres Rock.
1952.
Nestling in a desert wasteland
is this monolith of fame,
perhaps a creature quietly sleeping,
omniscient, oh! so tame.
Knowing all but seeing nothing
as many others pass it by
while it dwells in concentration…

Good to have friends
or at least witnesses
to the deeper meanings of this,
as diamonds pile up
all over Waikiki.
You need a soundtrack
& the current contender,…

This cute little poem is about the acceptance of difference. It is aimed at children 3-5 years of age. I would be very grateful if anyone who has children, neices, nephews, grandchildren or friends of this age group to check it out and read it. Thank you, Bridget Cameron

The day is long, the rain is hard
your job is full of shambles
the wife has left you for a retard
your son? well he's started to gamble
You arrive home fully soaked
to find your daughter full on dope
you wonder how you can ever cope
guess your life is all but a practical joke

the heart's shortcomings
quietening to dark apparition
open the windows now
to hear a psithurism
that pets Our singular tortoise geography
with the seven swinging eyes.
The citadel ahead in the haze
was claimed by a tricoleur
on arrival it housed only a scavenger's romantic circle
suspended vocations on retaining walls
installed like paleolithic homeware paintings
that is, with the sense of homely…

Love Poem
frozen
sentimental
if not sensation
then thawing
must occur
in the mind’s frost
oh that you
will always be more
than this
imprint
of sheets on a bed
in a ciphered
imperfect poem
an impossible
absence
my other
that called yesterday
all that
that is
and is not…

Wife beating
Child abusing
Cripple bashing
Drunk thumping
Beer swilling
Pot smoking
Meth head thug
With an attitude problem
So I went home
And exercised
I ate less
Walked…

JRR Tolkien's wife's favourite son the good writer called the second.
the boy went 'aye aye father' like a harry potter thirsty for knowledge
