I was bashed by a
Wife beating
Child abusing
Cripple bashing
Drunk thumping
Beer swilling
Pot smoking
Meth head thug
With an attitude problem
So I went home
And exercised
I ate less
Walked…

the memory of our moments together
warms me from within
your touch lingers in my head
longer than on my skin
my body tingles with desire
for you my only sin

entwined in an embrace
with our pursed lips touching
softly one moment
passionately another
but always equally

Unlike Spaghetti Westerns
That turned no name cowboys
Into household names
The Poetry Festival did not
Turn this no name poet
Into a well-recognised brand
Famous for book tours & launches
Friday’s Open Mic session cancelled
Saturday’s cut by half to fifteen minutes
I held no hope for my chance at fame
And making it onto Sunday’s stage
Crowds were thinning by afternoon
