So that this site remains a friendly & positive place for all, and remains on topic as well, we've got just a few rules on suitable content.

OFFENSIVE MATERIAL

We've had a few doses of unwanted material on the site.  The most tedious part about running online communities is managing this sort of behaviour.

Simply put, we're here to discuss, meet people and generally have a good time. Nobody has the inclination to deal with people just here to mess about, blow their trumpet or say rude stuff.

So:

  • Offensive posts will be deleted.
  • Spam will be deleted.
  • Repeat offenders will be first warned then banned.

If it gets too hectic then we might skip the warning part.

BLOG POSTS

We've had a few spammers make it through the site membership filters and post rude spam on the site.
For this reason blog posts will be reviewed by an administrator before being made live. When we have better preventative measures in place we'll remove this precaution.
UPDATE:  We now have better preventative measures in place to protect against spammers. The review step has been removed. If you see something offensive please contact Adrian Wiggins via his profile.

YOUR OWN POEMS

We encourage members to publish their own poems in the Members Poetry section. There is, of course, a moderation policy for member poetry, but that's just to ensure we don't get rude stuff, or too much from one person (one poem a day each).

If you have published your poems elsewhere in the site (in the blog for example) you will get a note asking that your republish in the Member Poetry Section.
UPDATE: Blog posts for poems are now encouraged. You will find you get more comments in the member poetry section, but you now have more choice in how you share poems.

PHOTOS

Photos of poets, poetry readings, poets in action, performances, slams etc are welcome.

'Poetic' and 'inspirational' photos – saturated flowers, enigmatic cats, mist-laden landscapes, sunny days, stuff out of focus etc would be better placed on another site (and we'd recommend flickr as a good place to start).
VIDEOS

Videos of poems being performed and discussions, seminars, workshops, conferences about poetry and (per photos) poets, poetry readings, poets in action, performances, slams etc are welcome.

'Poetic' and 'inspirational' – saturated flowers, enigmatic cats, mist-laden landscapes, sunny days, stuff out of focus etc would be better placed on another site (and we'd recommend youtube).
