Hi Ilan and welcome to the site.

There's a couple of ways you can hook up with other poets.

Firstly you could go to any of the events that are coming up. September, although a month away, is pretty exciting with a number of festivals on. So go along, get involved.

You could also join the Poetry Meetups group on this site which has just been started to provide a place for people looking for meetups to connect.

As for posting poems – while it's very easy thing to do, it isn't the intention of the site and there are plenty of opportunities elsewhere (as you point out with gotpoetry.com) – please see the Moderation Policy for more details.
