What truth there lies in darkness, our veil against the day

Our true selves lie in shadow

 Awaiting come what may

Time moves on, we realise,  were we wise or otherwise

What choices did we make, How much trust we place on faith

And when the night has broken, have we faced the truth that lies within

Or will we leave the words unspoken and turn away again

Which of us possess the courage to face our greatest fears

Which of us could  look back without regret throughout the years

Darkness is a kindness the night is a barrier

Life and love may be a virus we are the carrier

Hi Sheila,

I was moved by your poem. I am left wondering...still...after reading it 5 times.

Fitting my interpretation into a subjective pigeon-hole within the recesses

of my mind. Have you read 'Hope is a thing with Feathers' by Emily Dickinson?

Regards,

Mia.

Hi Shelia,

Beautiful poem. I really connected with your style and also with your point of view. I like to write about life's darker side, which is not exactly a bad thing. I guess i like the rawness of the harder themes of life. Looking forward to reading some more.. :)

Hi Sheila

I enjoyed your poem. The darkness can be difficult and that difficulty is often amplified in the night. I say this as there can also be "darkness" in the light of day.Of course the darkenss in the day can be a special form of uncertainty, anxiety and difficulty.

Hi Shiela,

Thanks for sharing.

Your poem has stirred me into questioning.....i think so many of us say we have no regrets, but deep, deep down, is it really true?

I like to think so, but when that final bell tolls....hmmmm.
