Sometimes there's so many good poetry events on I get confused about what they are, or where or when.

It's just possible I'm not alone, and so for a while now I've been planning a weekly email to members to share upcoming poetry events.

Today is that day when my dreams came true. Well, ok, I sent the email.

The email will be sent weekly mostly because poetry events can sometimes come in only at the last minute – and a lot would be missed out if the mail went out monthly, even fortnightly.

This first one contains events coming up in the next week and opportunities (awards, prizes, competitions) in the next few weeks (because while it takes a half-hour to get ready for a reading, creating a poetry-prizewinning masterpiece usually takes a few days).
