i love this poem, yet i find the ending to be missing something i cannot seem to change it because is there for me. It probably needs a word change in a couple of places, but sometimes the roughness of a piece adds life to it

He died in the fall they say,

I wasn’t there to relive it,

He had died in my heart long ago,

They almost knew it

I didn’t expel my thoughts soon after

Just as he could not on his last breath,

One could…

well this is just something i did in about 10 minutes just now, i don't know if its any good but i like it, i thought i'd like to see what everyone else though - i have other ones that i would like to share but this i might show first just to test out the waters - just a bit of background on the piece, i'm not the most feminine of girls so i have lived with such commentary my whole life and i feel it doesn't really matter what i am

Hi siamanto, and welcome to the Sydney Poetry social site.

This is a social site built by the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds) for the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds).

You can:
  • add poetry events, photos and videos to the site,
  • add your own poetry to the site in the Member's Poetry section (but just one a day please),
  • write blog posts, or start topics in the forum,
  • invite poets (and teachers, readers, writers, performers) you know to join,
  • comment on just about everything, or
  • just keep an eye on what's happening.

Good to see you getting involved with the site already. This being a social site the more we all do here the more interesting it becomes for everyone.

There's no membership fee and no middlewoman – there is though just a bit of moderation to keep it clean and on-topic.

So we all know a bit more about your interest in poetry it'd be great if you introduced yourself, what you write, what you read etc with a few words in a blog post or the editable text box on your profile page (and, if you're in the mood, add an image for your avatar).

Best wishes,
Adrian
