Our Essence
Our essence
You don’t understand how I feel
To have a life of dreams left unfulfilled
Trapped inside a dark and empty place
My mind left to resonate
It crawls through my body
Itching at the skin
Making me want to leave
This life, this world of sin
Every pulse that comes thereafter
Draws from a deeper conscious
Tearing through my mind
Unveiling all my secrets
Itching at the surface
Breaking down these walls
Just let me go somewhat crazy
Let me go unknown
A life was taken from here
Left for all to share
Take what you want from me
So that I have nothing left to spare
This empty space we make
Hides the truths we do not show
A rupture in our essence
A human flaw we use to be whole

Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing this. It's powerful and very soul searching. It is indeed "Our Essence" - The essence of all of us in during parts of our lives, just you have described it above. It reminds me of a wonderful quote from Nietzsche :
"We have to have chaos within us to give birth to a dancing star..."
