Event Description

Three Sydney writers launch books published this year by Dunedin’s Kilmog Press. Miro Bilbrough: Small Time Spectre, Michelle Cahill: Ophelia in Harlem and Martin Edmond: The Thousand Ruby Galaxy; Hypnogeography read from their limited, fine print, hardback editions from the eclectic, internationalist Kilmog. Bilbrough, a flâneur of intimacies, in her poetry traces enigma, incongruity and tenderness to witness uncanny emotional truths; in Cahill’s expertly crafted poems intense scrutiny of people is balanced by a delicate wry humour to give a palpable sense of event; while Edmond’s prose travels through historical landscapes and encounters with the dead via his unique blend of the surreal and what is commonly termed ‘reality’.
