As part of Rookwood's sculpture walk program these workshops invite new, beginning (and secret) writers to make fresh meaning from the raw materials of life experience, grief and loss. The results can be both individually and socially transformative.
Facilitated by Peta Murray, with Courtney Collins, this weekend workshop is especially tailored for new, beginning (and secret) writers aged 18 and over, and is designed as a companion piece to Hidden2011: A Rookwood Sculpture Walk (click for more).
Whether you are a would-be poet, novelist, playwright, blogger, or journalist, this workshop will get you writing.
GroundSwell's Writing Workshops provide creative, safe and immersive spaces in which words surface, and stories follow. Using a range of playful starter exercises, writing triggers and techniques, participants have the opportunity to call on what they know and what still baffles, what they've seen and what they've sensed, what they've lived and what they've only begun to imagine.
Day One: experiential, exploratory and playful.
Day Two: development of individual new works as well as (optional) participation in a group writing exercise with a performance outcome.
The weekend will conclude with a performance on Sunday 8 May at 5pm in All Souls Chapel and is open to the general public.
