Warm up your Winter with a high energy evening of Poetry and Hip Hop from two distinctive female performers. Tuesday July 5th WordinHand at The Friend in Hand Hotel in Glebe features Poet Candy Royalle plus Hip Hopper Rap Attack.

Candy Royalle has built a reputation for poetic, passionate and often politicised lyrics, with live shows renowned for their crowd connection, dynamism and sexual energy. Her distinctive, highly-charged performances have been storming venues across Australia for the last 10 years. From Adelaide Fringe to Sydney Writers Festival, London to Barcelona Candy has wowed audiences with her inimitable ability to breathe life into poetry and story telling.

Rap Attack comes from Indigenous and Sicilian heritage. She tells stories involving women, racism, culture, animal activism and junkie neighbours.

WordinHand is Sydney’s premier regular and enduring poetry / spoken word event, providing open mike opportunities for voices directly from the Sydney community plus a high-energy poetry slam every month in addition to a featured poet or two.
