This is the impressive debut collection of a mature poet, an alchemist of her own experience.  The poems are honest, direct and visceral, rising from the desire to make words dance, yes, and glow, but almost always with a clear backbone of necessity. And what a sense of structure! So many of them have such a sting in their tail. Over and over, enjoying a poem for what it appeared to be, I found it taking a sudden step further, shifting to a higher or a deeper plane, making an unexpected sense of things.

Lyn’s poetry has been published in Illumina, Dodecahedron, Australian Poetry Collaboration five bells, dotdotdash and  Blue Dog .She was highly commended in the All Poetry Competition in 2010 and this year she won first prize in the All Poetry Competition. This is her first collection of poetry.
