A social site for poets in Sydney.
This is a small selection of the micropoems I write on Twitter.
1
Approach me faceless
and your desire
will sweat and sate me.
But catch and hold my eyes
from amid your lofty crowd
and I will likely drown.
~~~~~~~~~~
2
I am lesser than a lizard's eyelash
when you shift your gaze
but greater than a galaxy
when our eyes engage.
~~~~~~~~~~
3
I am undone
by the tilt and texture
of the skin
dusted with sweat
above your lips.
~~~~~~~~~~
4
She was a drowned galleon
sinking to ancient depths
immersed skin dissolving
her jewelled cargo spilling
at the moment of surrender.
~~~~~~~~~~
5
I lay exposed
as the sea's foamy tide
lapped my crevices
her weedy tresses
cradled by my thighs.
~~~~~~~~~~
This is an intriguingly self-revealing collage of vignettes.
I will take it as a compliment that this moved you enough to comment. And I thank you Dermott. Don't read too much of me into it though. The truth is the kernel, not the whole fruit.
