Brenda Saunders is a Sydney poet and artist of Aboriginal and British descent. She has published three collections of poetry; her latest ‘the sound of red’ was recently launched in Glebe.  She has also been published in selected anthologies and poetry journals and is a member of DiVerse Poets who read their ekphrastic poetry at Sydney art galleries. Brenda won the Dorothy Hewitt Varuna Poetry Fellowship for 2012 and has recently returned from a Resident Fellowship stay at CAMAC Arts Centre in France where she worked translating her poetry into French.

David Brooks has been called one of the quiet masters of Australian poetry. His novels and collections of poetry have been shortlisted for numerous major awards (the Miles Franklin, the Adelaide Festival award, etc.), and his work has been widely translated and anthologised. His most recent and highly acclaimed collection, The Balcony (UQP 2008), was shortlisted for the 2009 Kenneth Slessor award. A new collection, Open House, will be published by UQP in early 2015. A vegan and animal rights advocate, he is co-editor of Southerly and was until recently Director of the University of Sydney graduate writing program.
