Tanami Trek

             part 2.

Suplejack Station is now far behind,

this journey so far is one of a kind.

One of me brothers said don’t be a big sook,

just suck it up, it wont be too crook,

now only a few hundred kilometres to go

it’d be bloody worse if there was  - - -  snow.

We hope we won’t have to - overtake a roadtrain,

even corrugations are causing some strain,

bouncin’ about in a fine red dust cloud

a roadtrain would enclose me in a particle shroud.

Luke Bevan says of the pace that I’m makin’

should get me to ‘Alice without too much shakin’

the dust storm I’d make would be barely a puff.

Just crossin’ ol’ Tanami will be enough

to prove to those blokes who get a surprise

when their helicopter does the opposite of rise

that being disabled is not the bloody end –

just get on with life

my bush buddy friend.
