At last, a beautiful dismal day
has arrived.
Rain falls, breaking the sun scorched
stranglehold,
falls all the long day, and into
the night.
Hours and minutes press close and heavy
through the constant precipitation.
Breathing is cool and moist,
heart and soul lifted by the
unfamiliar dampness, and swept away
in the deluge, lost in childlike exuberance
down suburban rivers of rain.
