“Someday, someday, but certainly not now, I’d like to learn how to have a conversation.” from Sherry Turkel in ‘The Flight from Conversation’.

Dear friend,

It’s been so long, we’re losing touch

We don’t go for coffee very much.

I wonder how it’s come to be

You very rarely try to ring me,

Yet when I reach for my smart phone

I stop to think if you’re alone,

Or if in the darkness of your room

One thousand, three hundred and twenty two

Other friends are thinking like I am.

We met at school, we looked the same,

But by now, you must have changed your hair –

Is that youthful glow really still there?

Reply to me now, I need to know

‘Cause if you get this and we meet tomorrow

How will I know you in a crowded bar?

Could you wear a picture of your avatar

On your shirt? But wait! Can we meet another day?

I fear I have forgotten how to say

The kinds of things that real friends share,

And could catch a chill – all that fresh air!

So, second thoughts, well, it’s great to see you here.

I Like your post, Like me too if you still care.

Love Brigitte.

Thanks for your honest comment Catherine. It's lovely to know I have struck a chord out there! Good luck with the ups and downs.
