Laying Off

The word is out

They are going to lay off

Just a rumour

Who knows how rumours start?

It spreads from hand to hand

Sticky hands

Old hands know the drill

The sidewards glance

Supervisors going around with lists

Ticking off writing in

I keep your head down

Cross my legs and wait ‘till smoko

Having been on both sides of this traumatic divide… ah yes

I remember it well. It can be a painful experience being on the

list and a wounding experience making and implementing it.

Thanks for your comments. I too have been on both sides and that is, I believe,  the very reason we should be writing about it.
