Aboriginal Dreaming
I hope it’s true one day – one gamarruwa.
In my dream I’m with you. I’m a whale
As gigantic as an isle, a buruwang.
I’m dead, I’m gungun but I’m back, my lovely cove.
In my dream I’m with you. I’m a whale,
Enjoying gentle water and your fish.
I’m dead, I’m gungun. But I’m back, my lovely cove,
By crossing the line of the sky, the burra.
Enjoying gentle water and your fish,
I see on the water a vast canoe!
It’s crossing the line of the sky, the burra!
Right now, right nung a dream is losing the way.
I see on the water a vast canoe,
As gigantic as an isle, a buruwang.
Right now, right nung a dream is losing the way.
I hope it’s true one day – one gamarruwa.

I like it, its refreshingly cultural. Home grown Aboriginal poetry, cool stuff.
Hi David,
how nice that you liked my poem written in the repetitive pantoum way. Thanks! I've looked at some of your writing. It's a very fresh way of writing. I like it.
Cheers,
Nuri
