Event Description

Poetry readings with special guests Kei Miller and Linda Godfrey plus the Rocket Readings open-mic section, hosted by Sally Evans.

Presented by South Coast Writers’ Centre and supported by Arts NSW and Wollongong City Council.

Linda Godfrey (Australian)
Linda Godfrey lives in Wollongong, close to the ocean. Her fiction and poetry has appeared in ‘Cordite’, the UTS writers’ anthology ‘Nine Tenths Below’ and audio anthologies by River Road Press. She was selected for the Varuna Longlines Program and an Australian Society of Authors mentorship.

Kei Miller (International)
Kei Miller has published several collections of poetry and a book of short stories, ‘The Fear of Stones’, which was shortlisted for a Commonwealth Writers’ Prize. His debut novel, ‘The Same Earth’, won the Una Marson Prize for Literature, the biggest literary award in Jamaica. He was longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize for Young Writers in 2008. He divides his time between Jamaica and the UK and currently teaches creative writing at the University of Glasgow. Supported by the British Council.

Sally Evans (Australian)
Sally Evans is a poet and a PhD candidate at the University of Wollongong. She has had poetry published in ‘Tide’, microfiction in ‘one-fifty’, and is currently on the board of the South Coast Writers’ Centre.
