Event Description

Australian Poetry proudly presents an Online Workshop with Les Wicks.

Throughout the month participants really develop a feel for where their own work is going, how they can further their publication profile and identify core strengths that can be brought to the forefront. Les Wicks has run workshops nationally. They are famous for their supportive strategies and incisive, practical orientation. You work hard on your writing – those poems deserve this, you deserve this.

Les Wicks conducts workshops around Australia. He has performed widely for over 35 years whilst having been published in over 250 different magazines, anthologies and newspapers across 15 countries in 9 languages. Les runs Meuse Press, which focuses on poetry outreach projects like poetry on buses and  poetry published on the surface of a river. His 11th book of poetry is Sea of Heartbeak (Unexpected Resilience) (Puncher & Wattman, 2013).

Prior to commencement participants are sent notes outlining possible strategies. This online workshop will run for four weeks and operates by participants emailing the tutor their poetry a few days prior to the first scheduled day of the workshop. The tutor will respond with feedback and direction. Participants can either send new poems each week or continue to submit the first work, improving this piece based on feedback offered weekly. Please enrol by clicking the register button below each workshop. You will then receive confirmation that you’re in the course and be contacted a few days before the workshop begins by the relevant tutor.
