Tap Gallery and Ariel Books are pleased to present an evening of poetry as part of the Oxford Art Festival 2011.
Oxford Art Festival is a celebration of art by artists for artists and those who love art with this year's theme is drawing out the underbelly or underworld of Sydney's Darlinghurst area. This will be a special evening of poetry that will scar you in the most delightful ways.

TUG DUMBLY regularly performs his poetry and comedy in schools, and has twice – 2007, 2010 – won Nimbin’s World Performance Poetry Cup. In 2010/11 he also won the Spirit of Woodford story-telling award at the Woodford Folk Festival.
ELENA KNOX is a PhD Media Arts candidate and is a performance and video artist interested in snowdomes and game show hostesses. She is engaged in challenging the mediatization of gendered performance and telepresence, and in exploring their related epistemologies and aesthetic logics. She looks at cultures of kitsch, drag, queering and futurisms in intimate collocation with mainstream [pop] cultural product, in order to question inherited narratives and assumptions about what is believed to be possible.
ROBERTA LOWING completed her Master of Letters at the University of Sydney and is currently enrolled in the University's Doctor of Arts degree. Prior to that, Roberta was Fairfax Media The Sun-Herald's film and video critic, during which time she covered the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals. Roberta also produced and directed 80 episodes of the environmental show Green Seen, which she co-founded, for the community television station Channel 31. Since 2006, she has hosted the Poetry UnLimited Press Readings in Sydney. Roberta's poetry has appeared in literary journals such as Meanjin, Blue Dog and Overland. Her first collection of poetry, Ruin, was published last year by Interactive Press and is shortlisted for this year's Asher Award. Her first novel Notorious was published last year by Allen & Unwin and was shortlisted for the 2011 Commonwealth Book Awards and the 2011 Prime Minister's Literary Awards.
