Last year the Red Room Company, in coordination with the Minister assisting the Premier on the Arts, Virginia Judge, and with the support of the NSW Poets' Union, hosted the Inaugural NSW Parliament Poetry Soirée. Virginia Judge's enthusiasm has been instrumental in ensuring that the event happens again this year.
This year's event has been confirmed for Wednesday September 22nd at 6pm. The event will take place at Parliament House, where two guest poets - Robert Adamson and Ivy Ireland - will read some of their own work, before poetry-loving pollies and poets from the body politic read out their favourite poems, or some of their own compositions.
Last year's event was great fun. There are some passionate poets amongst the parliament. The Red Room invites you to attend, read a favourite poem, or one of your own.
