Event Description

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) invites proposals from people who wish to conduct high level research into the national audiovisual collection. This research may take various forms: an academic may want to write a book or produce a website; a creative artist may wish to create a film, musical composition, dance piece or some other artwork; a curator may wish to create an exhibition; historians, scientists and policymakers may wish to delve into Australia’s audiovisual past.

Scholars and Artists in Residence (SAR) are based in the NFSA’s Residence in Canberra, with a fully equipped workspace in the residential quarters. While they do not receive stipends or travel allowances, they have full access to the library, mentored access to the collection, participate in NFSA events and activities and work closely withNFSA curators and technical experts.
