Les Wicks, poet, teacher and facilitator of poems in unusual places and on diverse themes (and sydneypoetry.com member too!), will read from his latest book The Ambrosiacs and new work and discuss his various missions in promoting poetry.

In the second half there will be a Special Performance by spoken word artists Steve Smart and Randall Stephens from Melbourne.

To complete a bumper offering Open Section readers can recite, sing, tell a story or play an instrument AND participate in the Monologue Challenge where they each get a chance to interpret some of the great roles of the stage in a one minute showcase - prizes apply.

Wednesday, August 25th: Live Poets @ Don Bank will host Running Order (Bill Tibben, Maureen Ten and Danny Gardner) as a poetry performance trio - reading apart, reading together, questioning and answering, reflecting on themes to tell a story.

In that night's second half selected poets will revisit and read a selection from Live Poets' Press' 'Open Boat - Barbed Wire Sky' (2003) - still raising money for refugees' assistance through the House of Welcome, Carramar.
