The top 20 poems entered in the 2010 competition will be read by live actors.

Hello Poets / Writers / Authors,

The judges Peter Fenton and Sally Loane have selected the following poems to be read on Thursday 16th Sept at Australian Youth Hotel, 63 Bay StREET, Glebe 2037 *from 6:00pm

If your work is listed, congratulations and if not, please be assured that the judges spent close to 3 days individually reviewing each poem and another full day together debating the pros and cons of the final 20 selected for public reading.

In no particular order, the 20 finalists are:

1. Australian Job by Lillian Allen – SA
2. A Sonnet to Cricket by Don Adams - New Zealand

4. Clancy of the Overthrow by David Campbell – VIC
5. Batting Order by Natasha Dennerstein – New Zealand
6. The First Delivery by Nigel Ford – SA
7. The Ton by Peter Harvey – QLD
8. Cricket's Last Stand by Brian Sam Hallewell – QLD

Based on the reading and crowd response, the last 3 poems are chosen by the judges and re-read at the Cricket Art Prize opening – SCG, Members Pavilion Thursday 7th Oct in which the winning poem / poet is announced.

We hope that you can make it on Thursday night to celebrate and pay tribute to a national pastime through poetry.
