Guest poet for 26th September will be Stephen Edgar
Stephen Edgar has published several collections of poetry, the most recent being History of the Day (Black Pepper Publishing), which was awarded the William Baylebridge Memorial Prize for 2009. He was the recipient of the Philip Hodgins Memorial Medal for excellence in literature, 2006.
Born and raised in Sydney in the early sixties he moved to London and, on returning to Australia in 1974, relocated to Hobart where he lived until his return to Sydney in 2005. He attended the University of Tasmania, studying Classics and English. For many years he worked in libraries but for the past twenty years has made his living mostly from editing, indexing and proof-reading.
The Poets Union thanks the Brett Whiteley Studio staff and the Art Gallery of NSW for their support and we thank Rosnay wines for their wonderful wine and sponsorship.
