Did anyone see the story re Dante's Inferno being taken off the curriculum in Italian schools? The argument for this is that it is a homophobic, anti-Islamic tract and that the children studying it are too young to set it in its historical context, thus having their minds warped. I will resist stating the "gildedly obvious", but would like to know people's thoughts on the sort of precedent being set here.
