Pollen Magazine is a critical cultural journal to be printed in April and distributed in Sydney and Melbourne. We are currently tendering for original poetry from Sydney poets on the theme of "natural history" pointing to the relationship between culture and nature, and those areas of social life where the boundaries become blurred. Abstracts or poems to editor@pollenmagazine.org by mid-February.

Thank you already to those who have submitted poems. We will try and respond quickly. To clarify, the deadline for submissions is mid-February. Pollen is a non-profit project and poems will not be reproduced on the website - the idea is to print physical, material, ephemeral copies and distribute them around the city, like the old days. The idea of 'natural history' originally refers to an incomplete research program associated (in different ways) with T. Adorno, W. Benjamin and G. Lukács. Of course it is a loaded concept and can be taken in many different directions. Additional themes to consider may be; changing visions of nature, the idea of a 'second nature', the breakdown of social orders, human and natural ruins, the crossover between 'spiritual' and 'natural' properties.

Any further questions can be directed to editor[at]pollenmagazine[dot]org

Thank you to all, especially those who have already submitted interesting pieces, and happy writing!

Hi Pollen Magazine – it'd be great if you could add this call for submissions to the events section. See this example...

PS - if you add it to the events section it'll turn up in the weekly email. Best wishes, EMM

It will delight me to submit an item.

Hopefully it will be considered to be 'on topic'.

Rimeriter.
