Oh sleep where have you gone? Why will you not come here?
Then just when I feel you close, I get an elbow in the ear,
Turn then on my side and once more try to relax,
Just about to doze off, here comes the knee in the back.
Turn then once more and try not to annoy her nibs
About to enter into a dream, when I get an elbow in the ribs,
And as I turn once again I end up on the floor,
Time to gather up the pillows now and start heading for the door.
Down into the spare room now and just as I lie down flat
There is an awful screech in the night, she has forgot to put out the cat,
At last upon a pillow cold, I gently lay my head,
And to those of you that snore at night,
Welcome to the lonely side of the bed.
