I can think of nothing sadder than a goldfish in a bowl.

Swimming in tight circles, such a lonely fishy soul.

With your tiny bulbous eyes, that pine to see the sea.

Longing for a little lover, to share your dull eternity.

All you have for company is a silly plastic weed.

Nothing to look forward to, except tomorrow’s feed.

Some pathetic grubby pebbles form your universe’s base.

Hello Kate, and a very warm welcome to Sydney Poetry.

This is a social site built by the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds) for the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds) – which includes the Central Coast, of course!

You can:

Great to see you getting involved already. This being a social site the more we all do here the more interesting it becomes for everyone.

While there's no editor deciding what gets published there is just a bit of post facto moderation (please do read) to keep it clean and on-topic.

I hope you enjoy your time on the site and find it useful.

Best wishes,

Adrian
