I am a south coast (NSW) poet and writer, born and educated in the UK. I have published 2 collections of poetry, Mad Oaks and Staring At The Aral Sea - both published by Ginninderra Press. My children's book, The Great Rock Whale, illustrated by artist Wendy O'Malley, was published by Lothian in 2009. (Hachette imprint).

I was a runner up in the Newcastle Poetry Comp 2004 with my poem, The Glorious Triptych of My Tongue  and winner of the Josephine Ulrick Poetry Award 2009 with my poem, The Ministry of Going In.

Hey, I just read your award winning poem from the Josephine Ulrick prize and I was blown away...!

Something about it, it was both funny and tragic...

Anyways,,, nice work

Hi Christine, and welcome to the Sydney Poetry social site. You are member #147.

This is a social site that is built by the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds) for the poets (and friends) of Sydney (and surrounds).

You can add your own photos, videos and events. You can write blog posts, or start topics in the forum. You can also add your own poetry to the site in the Member's Poetry section. Or you can just keep an eye on what's happening.

There's no membership fee and no middlewoman – there is though just a bit of moderation to keep it clean and on-topic.

Have a read of the welcome note (if you haven't checked it out already) to find out more. Although the site is just starting up I hope you enjoy what you already find here, and if you do, please feel free to invite other poets (and teachers, readers, writers, performers) you know to join.

Also please introduce yourself, what you write, what you read etc with a few words in the editable text box on your profile page (and, if you're in the mood, add an image for your avatar).

Best wishes,
Adrian

Thanks Christine - I do eat my greens! I do read poetry! What's the thing you need to do for the wealthy bit, though ...
