Schizophrenia

by Ilan

Ye watch carefully in the
paranoia that surrounds thee,
suspicious of everyone around
Peeking here, avoiding there,
Slipping into ambiguity
Fading away,
Thinning
Vanishing

Ye slip away
Like bottles into the ocean cast
Waiting for messages broadcast
.....we shall find ye

Ye drown in black water
In a circle not of life
A tornado spiral
Sucked into oblivion

Ye screamed
We heard
Lest the empty space in your concrete room
The hard floor
The unmade bed
Unshaven, cold

Ye watch carefully in the
paranoia that surrounds thee

Loving the ye/thee - it emphasises a sense of unease, makes the speaker seem that much more authoritarian, almost cruel, without any other real indication of sinister motives. And right in the middle, 'sucked into oblivion' provides such a crucial element of youthful colloquialism to emphasise the division. Creepytown! V
