Event Description

The 2017 Francis Webb Reading
Saturday 26th August, 2-4pm
Willoughby Library Chatswood (5 minutes' walk from Chatswood train station)
Poets, scholars and students will read works by the prodigious Australian poet Francis Webb (1925-73). Webb lived in Chatswood when his earliest poems were written and published by Bulletin editor Douglas Stewart before Webb finished high school. Webb's personal library, donated by the poet's family, will also be on display for the sixth year of this unique event.
MC Toby Davidson (editor of Webb's Collected Poems) will be joined by Webb's biographer Michael Griffith, Richard James Allen, Luke Fischer, Michelle Hamadache, Martin Langford, Mark Reid and students from St Pius X College Chatswood.
This is a free event, but please still RSVP on 9777 7900 or library@willoughby.nsw.gov.au
