Come read at the end-of-year social event that celebrates poetry in Sydney and the efforts of those who coordinate poetry events in Sydney.
This is the third poetry picnic, the family event will be located in the historic park reserves of the Paddington Reservoir Gardens, known for its contemporary urban design, stone work and sunken in gardens. The setting is a befitting endorsement of the vibrant and diverse poetry that happens every week in Sydney. The John Thompson Reserve is located below street level and is named after the poet, and journalist who was a founding member of the Paddington Society.
The initiative seeks to recognise the significance of these poetry events in forging poetry communities and developing support of the art form. The event is facilitated by Poetry Sydney program and supported by Australian Poetry, and the City of Sydney.
