For the month of May, the Sappho Poetry Night will take the form of "Avant Gaga" for the 3rd time — a gala night of experimental poetry. Our 4 guest poets are Kate Lilley (from Sydney), and Gig Ryan, Duncan Bruce Hose and Corey Wakeling (all from Melbourne).

Please come along to Sappho's on, as usual, the 2nd Tuesday of the month, from 7pm, for poetry, open mic, and for a glass/bottle/vat of wine, and some tapas...

GIG RYAN
Gig Ryan has published seven collections of poetry, the most recent being her _New and Selected Poems_ through Giramondo Press. She has been the poetry editor for _The Age_ newspaper in Melbourne, since 1998. She also works as a freelance reviewer, and is a musician.

KATE LILLEY
Kate Lilley's new book _Ladylike_ is published by UWAP. Her first book _Versary_ (Salt 2002) won the Grace Leven Prize. An illustrated chapbook _Round Vienna_ was published by Vagabond in 2011. She is also the editor of _Dorothy Hewett: Selected Poems_ (UWAP 2010). Kate is an Associate Professor in the English Dept at the University of Sydney.

DUNCAN BRUCE HOSE
Duncan Hose has published two collections of poetry: _Rathaus_ and most recently _One Under Bacchus_ both through inken publisch. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, and is a tutor at various universities.

COREY WAKELING
Corey Wakeling lives in Melbourne. His work appears regularly in Australian and international journals and anthologies, his first book of poems is a chapbook entitled _Gargantuan Terrier, Buggy or Dinghy_ published with Vagabond Press. He is a tutor and PhD candidate in literature and theatre studies at the University of Melbourne. He is reviews editor of poetry journal _Rabbit_ and interviews editor of _Cordite_.
