Libby Hathorn is an award-winning author and poet. Poetry has been the inspiration for many of her novels and her picturebooks, including Thunderwith an award-winning novel, retitled The Echo of Thunder now a Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie; and Way Home which won the Kate Greenaway Medal in the UK. She is lately using technology to teach the art of poetry to high schools students across the state as well as at the NSW State Library as an National Ambassador for the Year of Reading 2012. She has won AWGIE for the libretto of her opera Shoes and is currently working on a movie for children in Kathmandu and a novel set at the Battle of the Somme. Her upcoming book, a poem on peace A Boy Like Me will be released in May by Harper Collins and her compilation of women’s poetry Woman’s Work will be produced by Royalties as an e-book.
