Yes, the Northern Beaches Writers' Group welcomes poets. Let me tell you a little about our group, then your members can decide whether it's for them.

We’re a group of writers (both fiction and non-fiction) living on the Northern Beaches who meet once a month to achieve the following three aims:

• make contact with other local writers whose goals are publication or republication
• exchange experiences and knowledge
• exchange feedback on members' writing

We achieve these aims by socialising with each other before and after each meeting and by members volunteering their work for review by the other members. Each month, I arrange for two or three members to send around some work, fellow members then read and review that work in advance of the next meeting, when we discuss our findings and give as much constructive feedback as possible.

Some of us have been writing for many years, some of us have always wanted to write but are only just getting around to it. All of us seek critical but caring input from like-minded souls to help us get closer to publication, or re-publication. We are not really a group for those who write for a hobby, as we generate a lot of serious critique.

We meet for approximately two hours and usually six to ten members attend each meeting.
