This fortnightly symposium will run over eight weeks in the lead up to Youth Week exploring film, music, performance art and literature in South-West Sydney. The resulting event, Mobilise Western Sydney Day 2012, will see young people from Bankstown, Blacktown and everywhere in between converge and create a festival featuring short performance works, films and live music. All events have catering.
The Deep Corridors forums will be held in the Bankstown Arts Centre Courtyard from 7pm-9pm every second Friday from 2 March and all events will be fully catered.
Each forum will open with a music/theatrical performance, reading or film according to what the theme for the night is and then a panel of emerging artists from South-West Sydney will make presentations. After this, the floor will be opened up to audience members to encourage live, open discussion. The forum will end with another performance, reading or film.
These forums will result in a cultivation event during Youth Week called Mobilise Western Sydney Day 2012 where young people from Bankstown, Blacktown and everywhere in between will converge and create a festival featuring short performance works, films and live music.
Mobilise Western Sydney Day 201 will be held in the Bankstown Arts Centre Theatre.
